I have completed rucking distances from 5k to 50 milers over the course of 30 years. Now in my 50s I try to train for one GORUCK City Ruck each year. In 2026 the distance is 26.2 and planning to do a 50 miler in 2027 (yep, I’m looking at you Jeff 😎 ).

My prep programs, regardless of distance are three rucks per week. Two shorter rucks during the week, and one long ruck on the weekend, with progressing distances.

The other days of the week are focused on strength training and recovery.
